Job Description

The Director of Finance will initially oversee all accounting operations, with the expectation of assuming full ownership of financial reporting and accounting leadership.

Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, including the Controller and accounting staff
* Oversee the monthly close process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
* Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes
* Drive process improvements and system efficiencies, particularly within D365
* Oversee preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Present financial results and insights to executive leadership with actionable recommendations
* Ensure accuracy of balance sheet, P&L, and supporting schedules
* Lead annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting
* Develop cash flow projections and working capital strategies
* Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning and business decisions
* Oversee banking relationships, cash management, and treasury functions
* Review and approve weekly cash reporting, borrowing base certificates, and collateral reporting
* Oversee foreign exchange transactions, wires, and letters of credit
* Oversee audits (financial, insurance, tax, and bank) and act as primary escalation point
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and excise tax requirements
* Review tax filings including sales tax, payroll tax, tangible personal property tax and other regulatory filings
* Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
* Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
* Ensure integrity of financial data and proper GL coding
* Oversee establishing standard and landed cost
* Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
* Ensure integrity of financial data across all systems
* Lead implementation of best practices in financial operations
* Support executive leadership with financial modeling and analysis
* Maintain confidentiality of financial information
* Oversee payment meetings with executive management, traffic, and purchasing to determine weekly cash requirements.
* Oversee communications with the IRS and state taxing authorities including property tax, sales tax, withholding tax, state unemployment tax, etc.
* Oversee quarterly 941 payroll reconciliations.
* Oversee the annual 5500 informational returns for employee benefit plans.
* Oversee gathering information and providing to the brokers for insurance renewal applications.
* Adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.
* Demonstrates sound working knowledge of firearms safety.
* Maintains and keeps workstation and department area clean.
* Immediately reports any maintenance and/or safety issues to Management.
* Demonstrates a positive attitude toward co-workers

* Communicates clearly and effectively
* Other duties will be assigned as required.

Qualifications & Knowledge Required
* Minimum of BA/BS in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
* 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
* Prior Controller or Accounting Manager experience required
* Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, and internal controls
* Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
* Experience with banking, treasury, and cash flow management
* Strong leadership and team management experience
* Proficient in State and federal regulations
* Strong analytical and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple assignments
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is ideal, , experience with NetSuite, ISS, SAP All in One, Canias as alternatives
